Synopsis

A taciturn boy who was bullied living in a housing complex in Tohoku, Japan, begins to follow the same path as his father, becoming an idol, when he meets a new student. That was just the beginning of his tumultuous life. This animated feature film depicts the life of a man who has earned several names while following a strange destiny, reflecting real-life social issues such as the darkness of the entertainment industry, accidents caused by elderly drivers, disparities, and wars.

PROFILE

SUZUKI Ryuya

SUZUKI Ryuya was born in 1994 in Miyagi Prefecture. After graduating from Tohoku University of Art and Design, he aspired to become a live-action director, but drifted away and became a hired manager at an oyster bar in Kabukicho. After teaching himself animation, his animated short films won numerous awards at Japanese festivals and "Ryuya Suzuki Short Films: Three Men" was released theatrically. His feature-length animation debut, Jinsei, was entirely hand-drawn by Suzuki and funded through crowdfunding.
