NEW CHITOSE 2026 Signal Film
The official trailer for the 13th New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival was created by ARAMAKI Koji, a visual director and motion graphics designer who heads SIGNIF Inc. His work was selected for the NEW CHITOSE 30 Seconds Animation Competition last year.
Beginning September 25, 2026, the trailer will be presented across various platforms, including digital signage throughout New Chitose Airport and online.
STATEMENT
I created this trailer to express the idea of a festival emerging as another time and space—a fleeting mirage amid the bustle of everyday life at an airport. I imagined festival attendees gathering, making their way to the cinema, and gazing at the light projected onto the screen, their figures blending into the crowds moving through the airport before emerging once again.
To evoke the acts of “appearing” and “disappearing,” each object is partially revealed through gradients, fading away as it transitions into the next. These transitions eventually lead to the screen, where everyone is enveloped in the same light. In searching for a way to express the festival through the unique possibilities of motion graphics, I arrived at this film.

ARAMAKI Koji
Visual director and motion graphics designer. CEO of SIGNIF Inc. His recent projects include “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX” and motion graphics for both the series and opening sequence of “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.” Emphasizing the relationship between concept and visual expression, he explores experiences unique to moving images through the composition of form, movement, and time.

MURAI Satoshi
Born in Hiroshima in 1983, MURAI Satoshi is a musician, visual director, and artist. He heads the art and music studio MURAIMURA and is a member of IQ3, a Setagaya-based left-field beat salon. He was also a founding member of the now-defunct graphic team TYMOTE. In 2022, he served on the D&AD Awards jury for Sound Design & Use of Music. Among his representative works is “Wasureta Furi o Shite,” an animated short film commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Semba Center Building.
