Synopsis

The Taste of Pineapple Bread tells the story of a young woman who returns, through a virtual map, to the world of her childhood in order to once more feel close to her late grandfather — a story about the longing for someone who can no longer be reached.

PROFILE

LI Manfei

LI Manfei is a filmmaker based in Switzerland. Born in Hong Kong and raised in Bern, she blends Chinese and Western influences in her work. She studied Film Animation at the Lucerne School of Art and Design. Her poetic, playful films explore memory, observation and surreal transformation. Her works include Memories of Monsoon (2022) and her graduation film The Taste of Pineapple Bread (2026).
