This program welcomes curator and researcher JIN Qiuyu, a member of the festival’s international jury. She will discuss her career to date, as well as the methods and challenges involved in presenting animation in the context of art.

JIN Qiuyu
Graduated from the Department of Photography, Nihon University College of Art, and studied abroad as an exchange student at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in Germany. Completed an MA at the Graduate School of Global Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts, where she is currently enrolled in the doctoral program. Her research specializes in moving image history, photography history, and audience studies. With a particular interest in the curation of experimental moving images and the formation of audience memory, she co-founded the experimental moving image platform non-syntax. From 2021 to 2024, she served as an Assistant Professor at the Nihon University College of Art.
