This program welcomes Stephen VUILLEMIN, an animation filmmaker, comics artist, and illustrator who serves on the festival’s international jury. Through the concept of “Inside / Outside,” a recurring theme in much of his work, he will discuss his career and creative practice.

Stephen VUILLEMIN
In 2011, his webcomic ‘Lycéennes’ captured the attention of many media outlets such as Vice and Wired. His first animated short film ‘A Kind of Testament’ premiered at the 2023 Berlinale, was shortlisted for the 2023 academy-awards, and won more than 40 awards in world-class film festivals. In 2024, he contributed to the exhibition “Touch on an absence” in Tokyo along with Japanese artist Tabaimo. He released two books, “Les nourritures extraterrestres”, a comic-book, and “le bonhomme”, a children’s book. He also worked for clients such as Chanel, Stone Island, The New York Times, Marvel Studios, Breuninger, GQ Magazine, and Arte.tv. Previously based in London and then Taipei, Vuillemin now resides in Paris.
