This program welcomes director NATSUME Shingo and members of the production staff to discuss the making of ghost – end of night, an original animated feature scheduled for nationwide release in Japan on February 11, 2027.

NATSUME Shingo
Animator and director. In 2014, he made his TV directorial debut with “Space Dandy”. He went on to direct several acclaimed TV series, including “One-Punch Man” (Season 1, 2015), “ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept.” (2017), and “Boogiepop and Others” (2019). In 2021, he directed the original TV anime “Sonny Boy”, for which he served as director, scriptwriter and based on. The series received critical acclaim both in Japan and internationally, and was selected for the TV Films Competition at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. In 2022, he directed the feature film “The Tatami Time Machine Blues”. His first original animated feature as director, “ghost – end of night”, will be released on February 11, 2027.

KUGAI Norifumi
Animator. KUGAI began his career at XEBEC in 2009 and has since worked primarily on productions by Madhouse. He gained attention through his work as an action animation director on the 2015 TV series One-Punch Man. He subsequently served as character designer for ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. (2017) and Sonny Boy (2021), and has collaborated with director NATSUME Shingo on numerous works, including Boogiepop and Others (2019). He is known for his distinctive design work and dynamic action animation. KUGAI is the character designer for the original animated feature ghost – end of night, scheduled for nationwide release in Japan on February 11, 2027.

FUSHIHARA Akane
Director of photography affiliated with MADBOX. FUSHIHARA has served as director of photography on numerous TV series, including Parasyte: The Maxim (2014), One-Punch Man (2015), ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. (2017), Boogiepop and Others (2019), and Sonny Boy (2021), as well as animated features such as No Game No Life Zero (2017), SPY×FAMILY CODE: White (2023), and Umamusume: Pretty Derby – Beginning of a New Era (2024). Her recent credits include Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, the SPY×FAMILY series, and Orb: On the Movements of the Earth. On the original animated feature ghost – end of night, scheduled for nationwide release in Japan on February 11, 2027, she serves as director of photography while also contributing to its visual direction.

FUKUSHI Yuichiro
Animation producer. FUKUSHI began his career at GONZO in 2005 and joined MADHOUSE in 2009. After working in production management, he made his debut as an animation producer on the 2011 TV series X-Men. He has since collaborated with director NATSUME Shingo on numerous notable productions, including One-Punch Man (2015), ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. (2017), Boogiepop and Others (2019), and Sonny Boy (2021). He is also the animation producer of NATSUME’s first original animated feature, ghost – end of night, scheduled for nationwide release in Japan on February 11, 2027. More recently, he served as an animation producer on the first two seasons of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. Its third season is scheduled to air in October 2027.
