We are pleased to announce the six international jury members for the Short Film (including the Student Film) and Feature Film of NEW CHITOSE 2026! The jury members will have the task of choosing among the selection films in competition and bestowing 9 official awards, including the Grand Prix for short films and the Grand Prix for feature films.

The jury for the Short Film will consist of three members: Lilli CARRÉ, an American artist whose works have been selected three times and received an award (Evacuations) at the New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival; French animation director and comic book author Stephen VUILLEMIN, internationally acclaimed for works including A Kind of Testament; and Japanese animator/illustrator YONEYAMA Mai, whose creative practice spans animation, illustration, and moving-image art.

The Feature Film jury will also consist of three members: animation director NATSUME Shingo, known for the TV anime series Sonny Boy and whose latest feature ghost – end of night is coming in Feburary 2027; animation director NISHIGORI Atsushi, who served as Chief Animation Director for Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time and whose new animated feature GROTESQQQUE is scheduled for release this year; and Chinese curator and researcher JIN Qiuyu, known for projects including Godzilla: The Art Exhibition.

During the festival, special screenings and talk sessions featuring each jury member will also be presented.

Submissions are currently open. The deadline for the Short Film and Feature Film is July 10, while the deadline for the NEW CHITOSE Digital Signage Competition is July 31.
